Five quick questions for our Risk Manager Olle Walldén
In our recent conversation with Olle Walldén, Risk Manager at Euroclear Sweden, he shared insights on his role and experiences by answering five quick questions.
What do you do at work?
I contribute to the risk team's work by managing, analysing, and monitoring all types of risks for the business. My main task is to develop and implement the risk framework that everyone in the business uses to manage their risks. This includes everything from the danger of unauthorized persons in the premises to the consequences of a recession, from data breaches to threats from foreign powers.
What is the best thing about Euroclear Sweden?
A super nice workplace filled with competence. I joined during the annual meeting period one spring and then did everything to stay. We are in the middle of a technical structural transformation, and it is fun to be in an industry that is developing rapidly – for example, through AI.
What can you bring to Euroclear?
I am very curious and therefore know a little about a lot and want to contribute with new approaches and perspectives. It is important to me that everyone in the room feels welcome. Additionally, I have a quick left hook and can spar with colleagues who also enjoy martial arts, haha.
What are you most proud of?
Previously, it was that I managed to climb Kebnekaise at the age of fourteen, even though I had a fever. Nowadays, I am most proud of being able to open the fridge and cook something good with whatever happens to be at home. I am a sharp home cook.
What are you less proud of?
I am probably the Swedish champion in time pessimism. I have never been late for anything in my entire life, and I plan my day down to the last second. So, my goal is to become a bit more spontaneous!
